Value Chain Analyses and Business Assessments
The project is the exit strategy of TAF-PACAP in partnership with PBSP in assisted earthquake and typhoon-Haiyan affected communities in the four provinces of Eastern Samar, Samar, Leyte and Bohol in 2015. The VC analyses and business assessments of 13 commodities, namely: 1) seaweed, 2) mud crab, 3) mushroom, 4) woven bamboo, 5) squash, 6) cassava, 7) coco net, 8) ticog, 9) fresh eggs, 10) bell pepper, 11) tomato, 12) sweet potato, and 13) broiler chicken embedded rapid market appraisal, community consultations, evidence-based action planning whereby communities will be able to define steps in continuing their development processes after the project ended.
The BizFTC team facilitated participatory processes of conducting rapid market appraisals, environmental scanning, focus product selection, participatory value chain analysis and formulation of action plan to improve existing agricultural enterprises. Documentation of these processes and tools developed and used during the project were provided to PBSP-TAF-PACAP and assisted communities.
