Technical and Financial Study on Engineered Bamboo at the Province of Capiz

 

In 2010, Deutsche Gesellschaft fur InternationaleZusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmBH in partnership with the Department of Trade & Industry [DTI],  the Department of Agriculture [DA] and farmers cooperatives and organizations, Small Medium Enterprise Development  [SMED] Council in Capiz Province, funded a study on engineered bamboo. BizFTC was tapped to conduct the study.

The study presented the technical and economic viability of setting up a bamboo plant nursery, node and hub.  The research team conducted desk review and primary data gathering. It also included a resource mapping, identifying through GIS map bamboo plants in Capiz Province. 

The findings, conclusions and recommendationsof the study were presented in a conference organized by GIZ among key stakeholders in engineered bamboo industry in the Philippines including potential investors and government agencies in Iloilo City and Metro Manila.
